A vendor number is a unique number assigned to a business that wishes to do business with the goverment, its departments, ministries, parastatals or government affiliated Non-Governmental Organisations (NGO’s). It allows you to get paid after offering your goods or services.

What are the requirements for applying for a vendor number?

1. Registered name of the company.
2. Physical address of the company.
3. Postal address of company.
4. Name of company’s bank, branch and account number.
5. (Please note that the registered name of the company stated in the application and Certificate of Incorporation must be the same as that of the account holder appearing on the bank statement).
6. Contact person and their position in the company.

4. IDs for all directors on the CR 6 (CR 14)
5. Stamped company bank statement.
6. Proof of residence of 2 directors on CR 6 (CR 14) in the form of water or electrecity bill in their names only
7. Valid tax clearance

What else do I need to to business with the government?

You need to register with the Procurement Authority of Zimbabwe (PRAZ) which will allow the government to pay you for your goods or services.
